About the Opportunity

A well-established rural community hospital in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is seeking an experienced RN Director Women and Children to lead its maternal and newborn care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nursing leader who wants to make a direct impact on patient care and department culture within a close-knit hospital environment, while enjoying the lifestyle and community feel of the UP. This rural hospital provides a full range of maternity and newborn services, including labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care, supported by board-certified OB/GYN physicians, pediatricians, and a dedicated nursing team. The Director will oversee daily operations, staffing, quality outcomes, and team development for the unit.

What You’ll Do

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Labor & Delivery / OB unit
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and department budget
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice guidelines
• Partner with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to drive quality patient outcomes
• Support staff development, mentorship, and a positive team culture
• Participate in hospital-wide quality and safety initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Active Michigan RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Assistant Manager, or similar) preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and team leadership skills
